What is Cotidie?
Cotidie is an AI-powered personal journal available on iOS and Android. It helps you write, reflect, and grow by analyzing your emotions, offering AI-driven insights, and keeping your most private thoughts safe in an encrypted vault.
Is Cotidie free to use?
Yes. Cotidie is free to download with core journaling features included. You can upgrade to Cotidie Premium for unlimited AI chats, voice journaling, expanded vault, advanced insights, and more.
What languages does Cotidie support?
Cotidie is available in 10 languages: Turkish, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, and Polish.
AI Features
Does the AI read my journal entries?
Your journal content is only processed by AI when you actively use AI features (AI Chat, Entry Analysis, Smart Search, or Insights). Data is sent securely to Google Gemini servers, processed in transit under encryption, and is never used to train AI models. Your entries belong to you.
What are AI Personas?
Cotidie offers 4 AI conversation styles: Standard (balanced guidance), Sage (philosophical wisdom), Cheerful (uplifting support), and Analytical (structured clarity). Choose the one that matches your mood or needs.
What are Weekly and Monthly Insights?
Cotidie's AI analyzes your journal entries over time and generates personalized reports showing your emotional trends, recurring themes, growth patterns, and actionable recommendations.
Privacy & Security
How is my data protected?
All data in transit is encrypted with TLS 1.2+. Data at rest is encrypted with AES-256. We enforce Row-Level Security on all database tables so you can only access your own data. We do not sell your data, serve ads, or build advertising profiles. We are fully compliant with GDPR, KVKK, and CCPA.
What is the Secret Vault?
The Secret Vault is a private, encrypted space for your most sensitive thoughts. It uses AES-256 encryption with biometric (Face ID / Touch ID) and PIN protection. Vault entries are stored locally on your device and never sent to our servers. Even we cannot access them.
What happens if I forget my Vault PIN?
For your protection, there is no way to recover your Vault PIN. If your PIN is lost and biometric authentication fails, the vault contents cannot be accessed by anyone, including the Cotidie team. Please store your PIN in a safe place.
Account & Data
Can I export my journal data?
Yes. You can export your entire journal in JSON, HTML, CSV, or PDF format from the Profile / Settings menu. Your data is always yours.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile / Settings in the app and select "Delete Account." This permanently removes all your data from our servers within 30 days, including journal entries, AI chat history, embeddings, habits, goals, and uploaded images. This action is irreversible.
Can I use Cotidie on multiple devices?
Yes. Your journal syncs across devices via your Cotidie account. Note that Secret Vault entries are stored locally on each device and do not sync.
Subscription & Billing
How do I manage or cancel my subscription?
Cotidie Premium is managed through your Apple ID or Google Play account. To cancel, go to your device's Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Cotidie, then tap Cancel. Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, not by Cotidie directly. For iOS, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For Android, visit play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions. You can also contact us and we will guide you through the process.
What happens to my data if I cancel Premium?
Your journal entries and all data are preserved. You will revert to free tier limits for AI features, vault notes, habits, and other Premium capabilities. No data is deleted when you cancel.
Features
How does voice journaling work?
Tap the microphone icon while writing an entry. Cotidie uses advanced speech recognition to transcribe your voice into text. Voice journaling is available to Premium subscribers.
What is the Time Capsule feature?
Write a message to your future self and choose a date when it will be revealed. It is a powerful tool for personal reflection and growth. Free users get 1 active time capsule; Premium users get unlimited.
Is Cotidie a therapy or medical app?
No. Cotidie is a personal reflection and journaling tool, not a medical device, therapeutic service, or mental health treatment. AI responses and emotion tracking are for personal insight only. If you are in crisis, please contact emergency services or a crisis helpline in your area.
